Accommodation is one of the main or even the most important factor in life in order for one to start their life. There are many barriers which disable one from having a place to start their life, these range from financial barriers to mental health. There has been an ongoing pattern in the world, of individuals not being able to get things going in their life because they can’t get that one thing to take them to the next level, the one thing being accommodation with the basic essentials to live.

Sekai Space 2 main focus is to provide free accommodation as a solution towards a part of an ongoing societal/global problem of young adults or individuals struggling to escape an abusive or difficult environment due to their financial situation or mental health. There are many situations which can leave an individual very alone with nothing to genuinely help them out of their toxic situation. The so called solutions provided in the current world are very unrealistic and only cause one to get into another spiral of unnecessary misery and confusion; these so called solutions may have worked at some point in time a very long time ago and for it to continue any longer wouldn’t do any good for the way of life in the future.

The Sekai Space 2 experience will give individuals a realistic chance at having their shot at life knowing they’re safe and free from the unhealthy situation or environment they were in. The project gives room for expansion amongst local neighbourhoods or city like environments and a space such as this, expanding to different locations will only improve ways of life for now and in the future. Individuals will have the chance to apply for a Sekai Space accommodation with ease in their local area, within their country or even another country consisting of a Sekai Space; as an addition to free accommodation, individuals will always have the chance of a new opportunity or to experience new areas in which they can make positive contributions in societies.

Sekai Space 2 as shown below, accommodates 3 people, 1 at the ground floor and 2 at the upper level. It contains the essentials such as 1 kitchen, 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, 1 dining area and as an addition 3 open sitting areas and a garden. The small existing space was transformed to function and flow simply but well in a way that provides a fresh and motivational feeling. These designed essentials and elements enable one to live and start a new chapter of their life.

The Space makes use of lightweight materials visually and physically, that are refreshing and eye catching; materials include terrazzo, wood, white/black ceramic, plastics, soft fabrics, glass (frosted and clear), light and dark applications of concrete. Features such as dividing walls, shapes, frosted glass and acoustic panels are what makes the space work functionally.
