Sekai Space
Coworking & Lifestyle
Coworking, as well as it’s spaces is highly popular in the world to a point, and is essential for teams and individuals to create their worldly impact; the right spaces help and play a big part especially in the daily experience, the future of Work and Coworking relies on spaces that can reform and rethink the supposed normal ways of life. Sekai Space focusses on co working as well as living, in aim to provide a selected variety of individuals/workers with a healthy environment to work, while having a sense of balance. The name “Sekai” derives from the Japanese language meaning “The World” or The Earth”, which in relation to Sekai Space, community and environment are main factors.
As much as it is important to have available spaces in general, putting expanded thought into its overall daily experience is what the future requires. You imagine a Coworking space to be occupied by people at a pretty average table working most of the day away, which is a great thing in some ways but where this can go wrong is in the health aspects; there should be an outlet so that individuals can take a break or even feel a sense of balance between work and living, which eventually leads the outlets into becoming the highest priority in society; this could take place during the work day or before arrival at the work space. The suggested outlets create a psychological aroma of safeness which will ease the stress of tasks making stress easier to work with; as long as the environment/space promotes such actions and features individuals will be more positive for work and life with full assurance of their zone. Additional requirements for assurance of a safe zone would be Privacy, Openness(whether internally, externally or both), Vegetation, Thoughtful Simplicity, Form and Colour.
Sekai Space is made available to small businesses and independent workers, let’s also not forget the average employee which Sekai Space opens up to as well. The facility promotes and encourages the idea of working out of the usual company office so one can retreat to the Sekai Space for a change of environment and breath of fresh air while they continue their regular tasks. Encouraging this idea to employers as well as the healthier Sekai Spaces provides an alternative to working from home especially if one feels their home space isn’t a worthy place to work. There could be many reasons why an individual may need or want an environment change; even if a main office included additional chill out facilities within their building, part of the workers minds will still be attached to the day to day experience of the main headquarters; elements of freedom could be a good starting point for employers and so on.
Throughout designing and conceptualising the idea behind Sekai Space it was important to incorporate a large spanned area where minimalism and Japanese Garden influences direct the layout. While these influences direct the layout, Sekai Space/Spaces as a whole directs the lifestyle of individuals. The expanded thought gone into this space lies in it’s prioritised long term goal of reforming the world of work and it’s thinking, in a way of realisation towards the true importance of living simplified, healthy, personalised routines before work takes place; in brief, readjusting the current ideas of balance to something more benefited in body and mind.
